North Timber Trading CenterQingdao Zhonglin investment and Development Co. Ltd. is the constructor and investor of the
North Wood Trading Center Park, founded in November 22, 2010, the registered capital of 50000000 yuan. The park is located in Huangdao District, Qingdao City, the Yellow River Road No. 18, covers an area of 300 acres, 200000 square meters, nearly phase and the successful construction of another 400 acres site as the log new park. World-wide, Sweden is the third largest exporter of sawn timber. In Europe, the Swedish sawmilling industry holds a prominent position, as the second-largest producer and the largest exporter of sawn softwood. Large investments in the modernization of the Swedish sawmills have resulted in automated high speed manufacturing technology. This enables the sawmills to produce high quality products according to customer demands in an efficient way. In 2013 the total production of sawn and planed timber was 16 million m3 whereof 12 million m3 was exported. The sawn timber is mainly softwood: Swedish pine/whitewood (Picea abies), and Swedish spruce/redwood (Pinus sylvestris), also called Scots pine. Swedish Pine/ Swedish redwood has a yellowish-white sapwood, while the heartwood is reddish. The big red knots give a decorative character to the timber. The wood is soft and has medium density. The strength properties are good. The colour of spruce/whitewood varies from creamy white to light yellow.
Heartwood is not distinct from sapwood. The wood has medium density. Strength properties are excellent. Swedish Wood is a trade organisation supported by the Swedish sawmill sector. It is a department within the trade and employer organisation Swedish Forest Industries Federation. For the last decade, Swedish Wood has been working to promote Swedish timber and wood products in China.

On 15 Nov. 2013, Qingdao Port Group established Qingdao Port International Co., Ltd.
Dongjiakou Port Area, with a planned area of 150 km2, is now under construction. According to
the planning, total quay length will be 35.7 km and total number of berths will be 112.
Since 2009, 20 berths have been completed. In 2013, throughput of Dongjiakou Port Area
exceeded 70 million tons. By the end of 2014, Dongjiakou Port Area will realize throughput of 100
million tons, just 3 years since the start of construction.

In 2009, the lumber import of Lanshan Harbour Co.,Ltd totaled 128 million square. By 2010, that risen to 252 million square, in 2011, the import totaled 364 million square. In May ,2011, Lanshan Harbour was awarded as “the Top 10 Timber Port”by China Timber and Wood Products Distribution Association. In 2012, the import came to 381 million square and in 2013, 391 square, maintained the dominant position of the largest log unloading port in China. In 2014, Lanshan Harbour plans to import 400 million square logs . Import lumber of Lanshan Port mainly comes from New Zealand, Australia, America, Canada and Russia. At present, there are 50 clients operating their business in the port.
