FSC
FSC is the world’s leading forest certification organization with the mission of promoting environmentally appropriate, socially beneficial and economically viable forest management worldwide. Over the past 20 years, FSC has grown into the forest certification scheme with the most certificate holder worldwide. Through the FSC certification process, forest owners and producer companies can access new markets and gain a stronger, more diverse customers base. Retailers and users can strengthen their reputation and forge stronger links with their customers. More and more Chinese companies have engaged with FSC through producing and trading FSC certified products. There are thousands of Chinese wood and timber suppliers who can provide FSC certified products ranging from wood panel, veneer, flooring, indoor and outdoor furniture, wood packaging, toy to household articles. Swedish Wood
Swedish Wood is joining the 2014 GWT-conference as a supporting organization and will participate on site with a display area in connection to the conference room. The display will host a Swedish Wood reception desk where visitors can receive information about Swedish sawmill industry and suppliers of Swedish wood products. There will also be product samples of high quality Swedish spruce and Swedish pine on display. In the b2b-area of the conference the largest Swedish wood suppliers will be present for business talks.
Sweden is in an ideal position to supply the larger volumes of sustainably produced sawn timber and wood products that China will need to help satisfy increasing demand for many years to come. This is thanks to the fact that Sweden has a sustainable forestry, and harvests only 75 percent of the annual growth of the forests. This forestry model has enabled the Swedish sawmill industry to grow its production over the years.
